As a Facilities Supervisor, you will support the Facilities Manager in ensuring the effective functioning of Chemco Group facilities.

The role of the Facilities Supervisor is to support the Facilities Manager in ensuring the effective functioning of Chemco Group facilities thereby maintaining a safe working environment for employees and resilient and reliable plant and equipment to service our customers.

Core elements of the role will include, contractor management, CAFM superuser, project management and energy management. The role requires a focus on the continuous development and improvement of the Facilities and Energy management systems to achieve maximum operational and maintenance efficiency.

Core Responsibilities

  • To act as the point of contact for vendors, contractors, and sales representatives for the plant and facilities works in general.
  • External Vendors – Seek quotations and oversee contract works.
  • Maintain, manage and present records on all facilities related task / operations to meet requirements for both internal / external auditors, customers, insurers and corporate representatives as requested.
  • Co-ordinate all site facility activity in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Plan, co-ordinate and ensure all facilities works are compliant with required specification, regulatory requirement, quality of work and safety standards to include GDP specifications.
  • Ensure correct spare parts are specified and maintained at adequate levels to ensure optimal operation of equipment and systems.
  • Daily monitoring of the in house BMS & CAFM systems.
  • Oversee all key critical plant equipment, by overseeing all third-party inspections and interventions, as well as in-house daily, weekly, monthly and annual planned maintenance (PM) inspections and interventions on the following as per requirements: All electrical systems, distribution, and transformers, AHUs, Coolers / Chillers, Water Supplies, Lighting, Fire detection and preventative equipment, sprinklers, extinguishers, Site containment system and Site life safety programs.
  • Monitoring and maintenance of cleanrooms and associated building management systems record through the site BMS system.
  • Identify non-compliance daily events and take appropriate actions when the BMS system is drifting or going out of specification to ensure compliance is maintained for temperature, fresh air intake parameters etc.
  • Support and assist the Facilities Manager with day-to-day activities such as contractor management and Permit to work, Change controls, planned and reactive maintenance etc.
  • Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of facilities operations in terms of performance, cost and efficiency i.e. utility usage and cost control / reduction.
  • Environmental monitoring and management of pest control.
  • Develop operational / maintenance procedures and KPI’s to achieve and maintain best practice and regulatory compliance in Facilities and Energy Management.
  • Participate in / Lead Cross Functional teams when required, providing Facilities and Energy focused input to all organisation projects.
  • Support of Change Control and Commissioning activities.
  • Liaise with cleaning contractor to ensure cleaning standards are maintained and service contract requirements met across the sites.
  • Ensure all site and grounds maintenance is completed in line with contract, manufacturer guidelines, regulatory requirements and site expectations.

Energy Management and Sustainability:

  • Collect and analyse energy monitoring data to identify opportunities for energy conservation and cost savings
  • Calculate carbon emissions and implement sustainability practices across emissions categories
  • Form part of the ESG team to design and execute plans to reduce our carbon footprint
  • Monitor progress and provide accurate, engaging performance reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Engage with external stakeholders such as consultants, industry bodies and partners as needed to leverage external expertise and participate in industry discussion.
  • Implement and maintain an energy management plan to optimise energy efficiency and minimise energy consumption.
  • Keep up to date with new and emerging energy trends and technologies
  • Raise awareness and educate employees on energy conservation practices.
